Doing Real Work Today!

As mentioned above in this thread, usually a result of a displacement of air across joints/ligaments, and sometimes the ligaments themselves stretching over the bones.

In most cases nothing to worry about. Should not be 'painful' however. If so I would say it would warrant an examination by a GP just to check everything is OK.

IT'S NOT TRAPPED AIR!!! how would air get in your joints have you got extra lungs in your arms and legs that are burst?

The clicking noise is actually the joint fluid which gets compresses when you move and release a gas making the "pop" noise, this is called joint cavitation and shouldn't happen again for 15-20 mins
If it keeps clicking it might be relaxed muscles or tendons.

Every Cell in the body requires Oxygen... that's the point of breathing and circulation. Thus there is transfer of Oxygen to and CO2 from cells across membranes. Quite feasible physiologically to have air being displaced creating creaks and clicks.

My knees crack all the time, they have done for aslong as I can remember, never usually think about it apart from odd times where my knee'll start feeling uncomfortable, straighten my leg, CRACK, ahhh relief

I don't suppose cracking your knuckles is the same thing is it I usually do that a few times a day but I'm at the point were I don't realise I'm doing it till I've done it then I realise. I crack my neck a lot too, although that's my brother's fault He cracked my neck a few years ago and since then it gets uncomfortable from time to time, bit like my knees, crack it and it's fine again for a while
