Dont see much of a problem with it really.
Injury was caused by someone else and prevented him going on to possibly earn that much or more. You'd expect a decent pay out if someone fucked you over right now to prevent you doing your job ever again.

Id expect it if I was in the same position - especially when it was backed up by United saying they were going to offer him a 3yr pro contract.

Really annoys me when a soldier can come back from a war losing a LIMB and be awarded about 250,000 but a football player gets millions, pathetic.

Its harsh but thats life. Future earnings for a soldier in that profession just arent as high as for a professional footballer - and thats what this is mainly based on.

Soldiers who get injured and complain really annoy me.
Did you not know the risks when you joined the army ffs.

It's compenstion for the loss of his future potential earnings.
If Utd have given evidence to say he would have received a 3 year contract on X amount a week it goes some way to projecting what he may have earned.
It's quite a straightforward legal concept really.

I'm not saying the footballer is in the right either btw, he's just as bad.
Play football, you may get your leg broken, it's the risk you take.
Should be charged fees for wasting somebody's time telling him to gtf.

By your reasoning...you drive...you may have an accident...its the risk you take.
Yes its a risk...and an insured risk. If he/or Man Utd have paid for insurance why shouldnt they claim?
You wouldnt think twice about claiming for wiplash or loss of earnings as you were unable to work should you be injured in a car accident would you?
It's essentially the same.

I would think twice, I may do it anyway just because everybody else does and i'm a sheep.
Everybody managed fine without claiming money for everything until the past few years didn't they.

So if you genuinely had an injury as a result of an car accident that wasn't your fault that prevented you from working...that your insurance provided cover for...you would think twice about claiming for it?
Dont make me laugh
