Not the curpa though.
Been offered my mates old one, its been sitting for a while now, no tax or mot.
Story is, it seemed to be having an ecu fault, and kept cutting out. It cut out in the middle of the road once, and some old bugger in a hilux reversed into the back of it, so it needs a new boot.
Its a 1.6 8v, looks clean enough bar the boot is fooked. Interior is clean.
Ive been told the ECU is common to fuck up in the 1.6s?
Id be getting it for what he would get at the scrappers, so cheap cheap, and could easy get my money back if its going to be silly money to fix.

Might as well if its an easy fix. New ECU will require a new chips for the immobilizer etc.

Watch out for the clutch pedal snapping. The welds on them are crap.

I'd want to plug a diagnostic in before i bought it. If its going cheap though, i'd buy it, repair and sell on.
The mk3 1.6 is probably the last ibiza i'd go for. Not fast and not that economical

No mine was the spring on that holds the pedal in place. 1st place I asked about getting it sorted 'cause they didn't know what was wrong with it wanted £600. Did some digging on Cupra net and found clutch pedals are a common problem on the Mk3 so thought I'd take a look and found the spring had broken. Phoned Seat and got a new one ordered for £6

Its now at my house
Charged the battery up and fired it on, and turned it over.
Turns over well, but theres no spark. Local mechanic seems to think its the ECU.
There doesnt seem to be any warning lights on the dash either, thought there would of been for a fault?
Pics:

17"s arnt included, im getting the original alloys to put on it.

Found out some more stuff about it too.
Had a new exhaust about 3 months before it went off the road, full system including the manifold, just standard though.
Has climate control, cool dash computer thing, couple of guages by the ash tray (Battery voltage and oil temp).
Only things I can find wrong with it the obvios engine troubles, boot and the passenger window doesnt want to open.
Rekon I got a good deal really, cant face scapping it, so im desperate to get it running.
