ive bein offerd a swift gti for pennys reli all working just the tax has run out has a sports clutch in anybody no what they are like worth having running probelms so on n so on thanks

Yup, i've had one.

TBF, They're quick for a 1.3. The engine is solid, Body isn't bad for rust eathier.

ye i heard they dnt hang around for a 1.3 n it dose sound nice cause its got a filter n back box on it wat mods can u do to 1

IIRC, they're 100bhp, and weigh nothing, so they'll see a GSi/1.6 Sport off and they rev to like 7.5k

Mods - Same as any other car really, breather mods, cams, headwork and so on

Edit - 750kg and 100bhp - 133bhp/ton

Judging by the bhp/ton it'll kill a GSi/1.6 sport.

I was about to say something then but it'll open a can of worms and the bandwagon would arrive

Well, low speeds, yes. Until you're needing torque, then obviously the XE will pull away, quickly.

But a valver corsa, with pas, abs etc would be well over 1000kg's and only 150bhp. So the bhp/ton would be near enough the same.

the rad is weak, the front lower panel rusts so do the sills and rear suspension points
the elec widows are rubbish
and the electrics for the lights corrode badly if not looked after.

m8 got 1 pushing 170bhp 1.3 gti turbo,,i get pics if i can,,his is good for 200bhp when proper finished,,converting it to 4x4 drive aswel
