how old are you  , also its not flux that depends on which insurance company they put you under, i have same situation on the GTi with highway im insured on mods i havent done yet

24 with 4yrs NCB when my renewal time is...
it hasnt come down much this year tbh but i cba even looking around cause im happy with that price as it is. i did do a confused.com though and the cheapest they found me was quinn direct @ £660

450 quid excess though? thats downside to mine, under 25, thing is i renew every year 2 month before my birthday so i'll still be 24 when i renew again.
