You're pretty sure it's a 1.6?

Those spark plugs being like wont loose you 30bhp...

i didn't expect to be criticised, the reason i didn't think much of it was because when i first had the car i left a post here:

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=386976

about the idle, and was told this guys sport ran a little lumpy too so thought nothing of it and even more recently

http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=442364

since the exhaust you can hear the lumpyness more, plus before the exhaust dean knows i had a compression test and the results were completely consistent through all 4 cylinders all spark plugs looked brand new although i had only a very small flat spot and i thought this was just because of the filter, so all i thought was i had a problem with a leak which i was told was my sump as someone had tightened the bolts/screws or whatever too tight and cross threaded them so they need tapping again, the guy who looked at it for me said that he tapped new holes for the most damaged ones and then hell tap the next lot when i take it to him next month this is where i think im losing the oil, plus my dipstick is loose which im getting a new one this weekend so im trying my best im trying to keep the car running as well as get it ready for shows. The engine has only done 57k.

At the garage where i used to work, he had a 52 plate punto that have some problems. It turns out it needed a new ECU..... why, because the spark plug did what yours had done. It's shorting out and fried the ECU.

What is it like now with new plugs in?

not critisiong you mate its just if your car was running on 3 cilinders or less I think you would have noticed. There is a problem somewhere its just a case of finding it... When you do it will be a great deal of satitfaction

p.s. If you need a hand doing anything give me a shout

do i have a coil pack? the reason i say this is that my friends coilpack went on his 1.6 megane last year and mycar seems to be showing symptoms of the coilpack gone. serviced it today (new plugs, oil,Oil filter) and for those who said bout the cone filter i replaced it with the standard airbox, but now its running worse than ever. drove to the petrol station sounding rough as fuck, like a scooby, it was struggling to go above 4k revs and was very shaky? very worried now!!!

not yet the plan is to stick it on a diagnostics machine with vauxhall or other preferably vauxhall but not sure if theyl charge the earth, i found the cause of the misfire it was my fault i had over tightened the spark plugs my like 1/2 turn cracking the ceramics on the new plugs, so replaced those and its running like it was before, main problem now is its running flat as hell, no guts wot so ever

Is the ECU light on? checking the timing isnt hard, even if you dont want to do it yourself it wont take a good garage long at all.
