not worth asking on here mate, you know the obvious illegality of it and if your skint then how can you afford to put petrol etc in?

pmsl and you call me a cock.
Getting a dodgy mot says it all really.
Mot's are there for a reason.
If i had my own way the mot's would be every 6 months.

I dont normally name call but you are the defintion off a cock, if you knocked someone over because of your dodgy car because you thought youd save a few quid then you dont value life very highly.

An mot is there for a reason, to make sure its safe to be on the road.
Just because you think its safe, doesnt mean it is.
If you think its worth do it, i hope you get caught tbh.
And posting stuff like this on a public forum is a bit stupid.

You asked for advice on whether you should risk it
Not opinions on dodgy MOTs and whether you think they are right or wrong.

Depends if you think it'll pass a proper one. If it will then you're only saving 30 quid, that's enough to drive to work and back with fuel being what it is. So you need to drive a dodgy car for 12 months because you want to save one round of drinks. Worth it?
If you think it'll fail then you've also the issue that the car might not be safe. Bigger issue and the internet moral highground super sleuths will have you bang to rights on that one. You'll be crashing in to bus stops full of old ladies and children before you can say treadwear. Then it'll probably transpire that you're not insured because they'll cancel that when it's investigated as well. World of hassle.
And you did kind of indicate that you wanted one, you cited being skint and the MOT being cheap. We kind of put two and two together there for you.
Personally I wouldn't do it, getting a proper one isn't really so difficult or expensive.
Not sure I agree with the point about 6 month tests though. That's a cost I don't need.

Whenever I've been able to, I've been under there myself swinging on stuff to see what bends, it's worth having the car checked properly even outside of the legal framework. Which you should also do, m'kay.

I agree on cost ian, i would think £25 for an mot every 6 months.
When i worked in my last garage i seen so many cars come in which had months left on the mot but werent safe.i even wrote it on the worksheets, but the customers didnt care as it was mot'd.

I agree with nova, was no point in this thread. If you cant afford to drive legally and safely then dont drive at all. If there is something wrong with your car then your endangering people like me who pay out alot of money to keep our cars up to scratch. To be honest its a cuntish thing to do. End of.

lol suppose, my mate bought a clio which had the m.o.t done by him and my bro went summit will be wrong with your car within the next month, so he took it to see my mate on the diagnostics machine and there was alot of trouble with it and would cost him a bomb to sort it out, so he took it back, got £800+ worth of work done for free and my mate done the m.o.t and it passed, so all good.
