Its not even fixed if you think off it mathematically.
May and hammond where on a 200mph train but they had a further distance to travel, clarkson was doing 60mph most of the time,im sure they work out the maths before they do something like that.
And i agree with brett.

ok so take into consideration that hammond and may got separated? that would have added time, im stating there too many factors for it to be so close EVERYTIME, not just on this episode , in every episode they arrive within a matter of minutes if not seconds. its just bullshit

May and hammond got separated, yet hammond still got there in time to catch the bus,so he wasnt really late tbh he was running on time.they had it all worked out timed to the minute.
Its not bullshit at all the races are real they go back and film the arty crap later on.
And if you dislike it so much why watch it?

It didn't actually, it just cut out the margin of error they had between train and bus. Went from a 17minute margin to find the bus to 2mins since hammond was 15mins behind.
But I get your point.

i like top gear, i just dont like the fact that when they do these races all the time that its always the same predictable close call outcome. it wouldnt be.

If i was to find out that they were bullshit races it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. At the end of the day i find it entertaining tv and thats the main reason i watch it. If you dont find it entertaining dont watch it and moan about it, its simple.

im not slating top gear. i wouldnt watch it if i didnt like it. im just stating that i believe the races are fixed etc to exagerate them and it makes it predictable and less interesting.

But they do the races to be close Why would they think of a race that wouldn't be close at all? That would be pointless.

Top gear is mostly scripted anyway, itts not a car program like the old days.
Its an entertainment program, without all the chessey stuff it wouldnt attract people who dont even like cars.
Its all about ratings and money thesse days.
i just wish theyd bring VBH back
and whatever happened to top gear dog?

i know they are close, the point im making is that they do races over hundreds of miles and EVERYTIME they finish within a matter of 2 or 3 mins or even seconds and in reality it would not be that close EVERYTIME.

I remember the bugatti winning by quite a fair bit, not a few minutes. I'm sure A LOT of preparation goes into the races to make them close.

I agree, even if two people were to drive two cars from one destination to another several hundred miles away then they wouldn't arrive within minutes of each other.

Was a much better episode. Seems to me that its Clarkson presenting it though, with two assistants. Was focussed on him throughout the whole programme.
Has James May even done a car related driveabout this series yet?

Top gears scripted, it alsways has been and TBH it dosnt bother me as its mildly entertaining (although id prefer a much more focused car program but hey)
What pisses me of is when they treat the views as if there fucking stupid. Its insulting. Like clarksons fake role round the track last week. Its so unnessesary
