When i put my corsa b into reverse id say nearly 95% of the time it crunches, also my gears are getting stiff to select and sometimes i end up mishifting

Im guessing the gear lever cables are fooked or need adjusting?

I just wanted to know of they were adjustable or they need to be replaced?

Cheersv

No cable then, the linkage just needs adjusting.

It's easy to do if you've got a 4.5mm drill bit, 10mm socket and a jack/axle stands

Also try putting it in first immediately before going in to reverse.

got my dad to fit it took about 10 minutes, always good to have a haynes manual for things like this.

didn't cost much either, i think it was about 5-10 quid, maybe less.

The entire linkage will be expensive, although you can just buy the pin that holds it on to the gearbox which is about 3 quid and will probably help. Part number is 90523189 I think. It's just a bit of tubular metal with some clips on it.

I doubt very much if you'd need a new linkage, you can get a repair kit from Vauxhall which makes the gearshift nice and positive again.

Adjust it first, then if that doesn't work, get the repair kit.
