when i was keeping trops i use to do a water change once a month if the tank was lucky, never lost any fish, guppys breading all the time, trops are really hardy fish who can go for quite a while without care. ive now got marine fish and their not so forgiving

Kids are the same, doesnt mean you go a few days between feeding them.
