I was browsing a website and came accross a tv for £0.00, added 4 to my basket, signed up, payed £0.00 with my credit card and recieved an Email confirmation...

Today they emailed saying it was a mistake and my order was erased

Worth a try! Anyone tried this? Oh and the tv is now £1400.00...

surely its false advertising...
didnt a supermarket do it not long back advertise on website at 20 pound instead of 299 and they had sell at 20

or am i mistaken

They don't have to sell it at that price. There will be a disclaimer on the website stating that if they notice an error, they can cancel your order or ask you if you want to pay the correct price.

This happened on here with TV's a few years ago off ebuyer.

Everyone ordered them and we all got E-mails saying mistake etc etc...

Upsetting. But rather expected.

Mistakes are not false advertising and the small claims court wont do fvck all. A price on website/shop is known as 'an invitation to treat' e.g. invitation to buy. No contract is in place until money is accepted.
