Can you have 2 different insurers insuring the same vehicle. E.g. My insurance and my girlfriend's insurance on the same car?

i don't believe so.
you would need to add your girlfriend as a named driver on your policy or vice versa.

Nope its not allowed......if it got nicked/run into who would pay out!!
Also why would you want to pay insurance twice on the one car.....when you go on holiday do you buy 2x flights

I just used girlfriend as an example, i'm swapping cars with my dad and one of us will get insurance before the other. I was wondering wether they would clash.
