Ok ive u2ud him about having a redtop / LET conversion done, hes gave me a price listing and what not which aint to bad but I just need to know some more info which ive also u2ud him about but hasnt got back to me..

Is there anyone whos had this done by him..

I just need to know what sort of condition the engines are that he uses etc, do they get a service before they are put in, is there any chance of a check over before fitting.

Basicly I dont want the engine going 'BANG' after a week and me not being v mechanical minded I wouldnt know what the problem was, so need to know if its worth doing.

Cheers

has he priced you up a cam belt kit, oil pump, water pump?
He most probably will give the engine a good service and he will do what you pay for, if you say that you want the engine to be completely recond then he will do it, but it's a expensive thing to get done looking at about 1k ish to re con a let and a xe,

Put an XE in my old corsa. Very good job. All tidy and didn't take him too long. Needed a few bits of wiring to be finished but I didn't take it to get it done.

Reccomended

i have taken the afternoon off to reply to the million of emails/U2U's/PM's sort all my paper work out for the garage and post alot of items out.
As i have said before sorry for not getting back to you i have millions of things to do as you can see with the above replys

Anyone who has done Engine conversions for a number of people will tell you the same. Everyone expects a 100,000mile engine to last for ever and never have any problems. IF you spend the money and change asmuch as you can afford them you limit problems.
I do not know anyone who will give more than a 3 month warrenty on a second hand engine BUT with that warrenty comes a price.
BrakersYard price with warrenty - 500+
Internet Price without warrenty - 250+
Brand New Vauxhall Exchange with 3 years warrenty - 1200

The prices i have sent you where just an rought price to give you an idea with just a basic service. When a customer comes i always sit down and go threw everything they want doing making sure they know what they are getting aswell as at the end giving a fully brake down of where all the cost has gone so you can see whats has and has not been changed.

Its all about what the customer can afford to do, more to spend the more you can replace/rebuild.

Out off all the turbo conversion i have done NON of the customers have gone for a turbo rebuild........

Hope this gives you an idea mate, if you need anything more answering feel free to post or u2u
