92bhp IIRC. Group 5 ins, i pay £1200 at 19 having just passed my test within the last 2 months with 0 NCB. £10 will get me around 80-90 miles, watch out for dodgy electrics, if things like the c/l don't work then imo, dont buy it, they are a right ball ache to sort, mine was broke and to have had to buy new plug etc to try and fix it, just waiting for a sunny day to sort it.

If you keep looking you can get a decent newer shape one for a grand.

Mk1 shape looks dated a bit,mk2 and 3 look spot on imo.

All u guys that are slating them have u ever onwed or driven 1???
I can honestly say that after owning 1 for about a year, its one of the best cars ive had.Had it running a safe 1.3 bar boost and it was still VERY reliable(never had to fix anything except change the rear axle but i knew about that when i got it) and returned good MPG.Never broke down once, insurance on it was only £39 a month for me and the newly passed GF.

Get a good 1 and ur laughing.Id definatly have another 1 one day.

As long as it's in good condition then they're alright, otherwise it's all downhill. I agree with Nova_gteuk though, pay the little bit extra if you can and get the newer shape

My old 1 had the Bosch pump(easiest to tune) and i had it running 1.3bar boost just by adjusting the fueling and removing the on-boost fuel float.

I've had mine for nearly 5 years, and it's never had any major problems. Usual wear and tear, not too bad on fuel when given stick, fun to drive. It's got to go soon though, and it's going to be a shame to see it go.
