Whats with all these companys calling themselves engineering firms when they are clearly fabricators and/or machinists?

Engineering is maths, physics, chemistry and computer programming. Not making stuff out of aluminium or fitting exhaust pipes to cars.
Anyway, i've made this go off topic... They look like good components

Better tell the colleges theyre stating their coursas as engineering when its not then.
I done mechanical engineering in college and i never done chemistry or computer programming.

engineering covers a massive vocational spectrum, it cant be isolated to just 1 job description.

I know a civil engineer, he doesnt programme computers or use physics or chemistry. he sits in an office all day and occasionally walks around a building site. does that mean he isnt an engineer?

Same here, but from what Ed says I did. We did Materials which was partly about chemical makeup of stuff and whatnot, and we kind of did simulations in PLC lessons.
National Diploma by any chance?
