About 2 years ago sold my last car for £7.5k, as I now drive a company car.
£250 deposit non refundable and then bankers draft for the remainder. I kept the V5 until the draft cleared.
Can never be too safe!!

Cash could be abit risky for a high amount, what with forgery etc. I'd take a bankers draft to be safe.

it was a 54 plate golf, the fella who was selling it wouldnt sell it us as he thought it was dodgy, 2 18 year olds trying to buy a practically new car with 5 pound notes seems a little suspicious

tbh I wouldn't want to take cash for anything over about £3k, but I'd be happy to pay it.
I'd get one of those counterfeit checker pens.
But for the amount bankers drafts cost, it's worth it when buying something for £9k.
