Thats just retared if thats actually true. Did hear everyone an their mum say this at the weekend but I refuse to believe it.
Why?
Leyland built a twin engined Mini with a 1212 in the rear and a 1088 in the front as it was the best combination.

So the bog standard engine up front is the one that let go and had to be removed and the 500bhp one was fine.......
........mmmmm me thinks your talking out your 4rse
Both engines are modified and the ecu's are actually linked to try and get them to perform the same.
To be fair, that is what the commentator said over the tannoy about 11 am Sunday.

The front engine is tuned to full FIA Group 3 specification, has a Formula Junior head, and twin 1 ½-inch SU H4 carburettors. The capacity is 1,088 cc and output is a useful 82 horsepower. There’s an even bigger sting at the back. A cool 96 horsepower comes from a 1,212 cc unit, with a similar head and carburettors. So here is a baby bomb, weighing under 1,600 pounds, and giving out 178 horsepower; put another way, it has a power-to-weight ration of about the same as a Ferrari Berlinetta!

The nova was built by eds, I read there picture book of the whole project when i was there! It has the english plates on it because of the problems they would have with the German car law.
Last time I look at it, it was 2x phase 3.5 spec engines, with hybrid kkk' turbos and vxr injectors. They actually took bits off of one of there engines to fix my friends car!
I think there vx220 is more interesting, running a z20let engine/management with a c20 let head!

having more power at the back makes sense to me. having 295hp differnce tho hmmm, dunno. Its one of them cars that only a few people really know whats going on. Would be brilliant if someone could get it reliable and quick though.

Your right Rich. Built in Germany by EDS but they have strict TUV rules (I.E mantzel was TUV approved, as is lexmaul) that have to pass certain standards. The nova didn't qualify, so they shipped it to regal to become road legal. Regal still claim the 2.96 0-60 at Trax as real Funny enough though, it lost out big time Vs a 700bhp single engine skyline. Theres probably a vid knocking around of it.
