just bought x16xe engine and box to go in my 1.4 sport does anyone know how i check the engine code to first of all make sure its the engine my seller said it was. And also can i run it on my x14xe ecu or would this simply not run properly and damage the bores by bad detonation from under fuelling... also if i was to get a 1.6 ecu can i use the 1.4 loom

You can run it on your 1.4 ECU but you won't feel all the benefits of fitting the 1.6. I believe that you can use the same loom too.
