Just went along to the PO for road tax, handed over all the required forms & the lady scanned the V5 at which point she says oooh its came up on scrteen 'gap in license - refer to DVLA' she wasnt quite sure what it meant so gave me my tax disc anyhoo

Anyone know? Im thinking the previous owners had it without tax/sorn for a while & its somehow rolled onto me

A dealer may have had it on their forecourt, it doesnt get sorn'd but isnt taxed. Nothing too unusual about that.

It means refer to DVLA to see if they can fine you for something.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

You're probably right there mate

I've never heard of it before, either.

The wife's rover wasn't taxed for a month when she bought it and she didn't have any problems. She taxed it on line though. Not sure if that makes a difference?

I had the same problem yesterday, they said either i've had no tax for the last 6 months or it wasn't due. winner.
