Made a bit of a twat out of myself on saturday.
Went to the car parts shop to buy meguirs quick detailer, then went to the jetwash.
Gave the car a quick jetwash, drove into the parking bay and started to spray the quick detailer all over the car. As it was coming out I thought it looked a bit different- usually a clear mist but this was more like a white foam substance- just assumed they had changed it slightly or the spray nossle was a bit wrong.
By the time I had sprayed the whole car I walked back round to where I started spraying and the whole car had turned white.
Got the drying towel out and started drying off and this was when I realised my error- I had sprayed the whole car with half a bottle of tech wax(the bottles look too similar) in full sunlight and it had cemented itself all over the car.
I had no money for jetwash to get it off, no water in the car, and only one drying towell.
I used my one drying towell to wipe off the window and then had to drive 5 miles home in a car that looked like it had been covered in snow- then took me 3 hours to get it all off and get the plastics back to black- went through about 15 polishing cloths.
There is nothing getting anywhere near my paintwork now - got half an inch of wax the whole way round the car.

Should have got at least 1 pic.
At least it was something 'good' for the paint, and not spray on t-cut or something

I wasnt really thinking at the time mate- should have taken a pic.
I was a bit worried about the wax on the F1 decals- other people have discoloured theres with certain waxes- I normally only use the quick detailer because its clear and really easy to buff off.
I can now reveal the worst places to get wax out of on a clio f1..
1- around the bump strips on the side panels.
2- join between bumper and wing
3- windscreen wiper arms- they are still a bit white now
4- roof graphics- the wax had almost gone underneath some of the edges of the decals- nightmare.
5-front plastic grill- another fiddly nightmare.

Worst bit was on my way home I stopped at the traffic lights to let a family cross the road-
The dad was pointing at my car and speaking to his wife - probably saying "Look at what that poor sods had done to his car"
Either that or he was saying "look luv- that twat bought tech wax instead of quick detailer- pwoned"
