How often do they update the system ?, i got pulled tonight in C4RSA for a back light which is fair enough tbh and did a check on the car reg... everything came up as the past owners car, two coppers looked as if they were about to go to town on my arse when the woman on the radio told them quick check of the tax disk code must of proved my story, plus they didnt have my insurance on record for it also ...

A little shocked that the data wasnt correct, i undersand it must be some task to keep everyone in the uk but will this be a regular thing getting stopped untill its updated ?

Funny this came up actually, I got pulled at a checkpoint in London on Friday night. An ANPR van was parked by the roadside and they pull you over about 300metres down the road if something comes up.

They told me it was coming up with no insurance and I promptly shit myself, even though I knew I had insurance. Then he explained that's just because the database hadn't updated yet as the car hadn't been insured for a few months before I bought it.

When I asked him how long before it updates he couldn't say, said there's no time limit

Explains why I get followed for miles by Police as they have to do a live database check to make certain.

Police database is shit tbh.

There was a nurse in the paper not so long ago by me,the police pulled her for no insurance,so they done their checks and even took the car off her, making her walk home in the rain..yet she did have insurance and they even charged her the £105 impound fee to get her car back.

My dad got pulled for the same not long ago, they where saying thed impound his car, lucky he remembered he had his documents in his bag in the boot or hed have had it impounded.

i think i read that story nova_gteuk or something quite similar, the only reason i got to drive away was becasue on my RST and C5's insurance im allowed to drive any car TPFT

Just struggle to see why a system so important is so ill informed

i got pulled for no insurance in my calibra, they were dying to do me for it, incredibly rude and dis-courteous. They asked the name of my ins co. I said Adrian Flux they replied "never heard of them" asked if i had their number, i did he rang up and they were closed 11pm im not suprised they were, he said "convinient"

I got a producer, went down 10am next morning and got documents to police station. They checked over my valid insurance document and said all ok. I asked if any further action needed for this they said no.

6months later i recieved a court summons for driving with no Insurance

They threatned to take my car off me and impound it for the sum of £600 which is what they where going to fine me even though the police told me they had sorted it.

Rang the courts 4times, no one cared no one was helpfull the police were rude and unhelpful and above all unapologetic.

After contacting my solicitor i sent a letter to the controller at Maidenhead police station and got a quick response and an apology with all false charges dropped. Aparently they sent all my documents to ayelsbury magistrates not wycombe magistrates who were dealing with the case.

What a fucking abomination. Absoloutely disgusting imo

I remember reading this article in my local paper last year, which I find a fucking disgrace;

And that's why I have no faith in the Police. It could have so easily happened to me had it no been for them ringing up for the Live database.

I couldn't agree more.

Saying that, if they'd told me to walk to work they can fuck right off as I was still 10 miles away

I got pulled early last summer by a car with ANPR, I saw it had my insurance details up on the screen, yep all good.

Got pulled around October time, no ANPR, they radio'd for a vehicle check, no insurance

The policy I had was only up at the end of November so it was the same policy both times I was pulled, yet the second time they had no record of it even tho it was over a month till the policy ended

What a system

The police could update their system whenver they want. The dvla send out database files every week or so, which then the forces upload onto their bof.

Then when they catch you on anpr, if they havent updated their bof data might be wrong.

police pulled upto me and a few mates the other night and asked us why we were eating mcdonals late at night (like 12pm)

they said it was becuase drug dealers operate in the area, it was a busy car park with only one way in/out.
