They dont look at all your outgoings 9they certainly don't need proof of them), they will check your credit status and may need a guarantor.

Ignore tomtom he just don't want you and louise to move in together although it is alot to spend on rent (I paid £7k of someones mortgage in a year)

You know what wage i'm on tom , louise is on a similar wage. It's a lot to pay, but it's also comfortable living when it would be going 'halfs'. Also give us a chance to buy furniture etc etc ready for a house.

If your looking at £500ish p/m then you will need to have around £1k(maybe teeny bit more depending on how much you eat ) between you to include shopping, rates, utilities, internet etc

Which is do-able if louise gets a similarly paid job in wales (?) and you don't both pay out most of your wages on other things already

I'd say more than £1k, probably touching on 1200 between two.

Suppose I depends on you live, there are lots of variables like council tax, utilities costs etc and food.

My mortgage isn't going to be much more than the price of the first one.

First one is much nicer though

Is the rented house from a person, or a company?

We rent off a company, they did credit check on both of us, if you have any CCJ or anything you just need to tell them about it, it dont really effect your chances just best to tell them as if they check and it comes back you didnt tell them, then you probably wouldnt get accepted then they got a reference from both of our employers

But because we were under 25 and the house was being rented from a company, we needs a guantor, so had to get my mam credit checked and a reference from her work

Ours took a month to get us in, thats a long time but they took ages to tell us we needed a guantor

our rent comes out of my boyfriends account, but the estate agents never give us the standing order to set up so make sure you ask about it, as it fucked up our first payment :@ We pay 525 a month, usually they work out if you can afford this by working out if you earn 3x the rent between you both

I still think renting is dead money but it has give us chance to get all the furniture together etc

at the mo i dont think renting is bad....

imo house prices will drop and if we buy a house now it will lose value

so we are waiting for a year or 2....
