If you own an old car, with a number plate like ABC 123 layout, can you transfer it to a new car? What are the stages to do it?

Could you buy an old banger, get it mot'd and then transfer the reg and sell it on?? These style of reg's go for a lot of £££, so if found an old car with a great reg, would be worth doing it?

You'd need to weigh up the costs/benefits...
Car needs to be registered, MOT'd and Taxed I believe unless SORN'd and in that case within a set time period...
