Going to view a Clio on Sunday with a view to buying a runaround as i havent had a car for a 2 months and its killing me. Its up for sale for £1300 and has 83k miles on it. I have a budget of £1300 at a push
Please bare in mind i am not buying it for speed/looks i just want to know buying a car thats going to keep letting me down or cost me lots to fix every month (thats why i got shot of my old car lol)

Many Thanks
Matt

Well, it's French so won't be the most reliable thing ever, and Clio interiors wear quite a bit. They're good on insurance, and you might be able to knock them down a bit if you try, I don't know as I haven't seen the car

It would be good as a runaround, but I can't guarantee you won't need to spend money on it.

Check autotrader's valuation thing and see what that says it's worth, you might be getting a bargain.

What shape is that year?

Pointy lights like Fads or the round lights?

If its the pointy lights then yeah, Go for it.

If its not, then i'd give it a miss.

Ah right, Arent they the ones that had the most problems with running gear etc?

My Megane Coupe was a 2001 and was a nightmare for reliability. Wheel bearings, waterpumps, seals and so on.

Im not a mechanic though so dont take it as gospel , Just my experience.

Cheers Timbo - ive had two Saxos so i have experienced more than my fair share of problems

I need to get driving though and for £1300 i wouldnt really care too much about maintaining it so well

Like you say, Its only a run around etc so aslong as it gets you to work/your girlfriends/your mates then its all that matters.

My sisters 03 plate was a nice easy drive but im assuming the engines are different etc.

You put 00' in the title mate, that will be mk2 ph 1 with old lights, not like baskeys.

U want a runaround? Buy an AX.

Mine was such a good car. Lasted forever on fuel too

Can pick them up for less than £500 with no miles on.

Instructor had nothing but bother with it!
My cousin had one of these and again it spent more time off the road than on. They both were 53 reg too.
