i went to school 10miles from my house.

Fudck walking there everyday, i walked a few times in the summer, yoused to take an hour ish. Takes about 5mins in the car. Do the math.

As for prices going up and our wages, this is true, shame my wages dont go up at the same rate everythiong else does = out of pocket.

I dont see why society should move backwards

Lower pollution, less money spent on petrol, and would solve the obesity problem our nation is facing, win win situation

I could walk more, in fact I probably should.

I know it isn't appropriate for everyone, particularly those who have children or tools, but really, that isn't everyone is it.

No need to get angry and lower the tone. It's a valid comment for a great many people. If you're not one of them, get on with needing a car. You're only one person in a bigger picture.

If I could use buses to get to work I would, driving gets on my tits.

Fact is, I can drive it in 8 minutes. It takes over an hour on public transport and then after that i need to walk for 2 miles.

I'll admit I could walk to work a lot more than I do (twice in the last year), but it's not particularly safe for me to do so, so I won't

No danger I could take public transport to work, im 40 miles of motorway & edinburgh bypass, id need to take 3 buses & 2 trains which would take like 2.5hrs+ each way!

I dont mind oil prices going up its the duty & tax that is bundled along with it that annoys me. All is fair saying prices go up over the year but I for one didnt get a 20% wage rise this year!

theres no way i could take public transport back at home, it would take well over an hour and a half mile walk to get to work, when it normally takes 15 mins door to door.

Whereas in Sheffield I've never had any problems getting around, the public transport, in the city centre is excellent with the trams and what not.

Ok, they are different situations, but if public transport improved considerably back home then i would consider using it more often, as driving, especially during rush hour gets on my tits.

the bus is for people who dont work

if you go to work everyday you should be able to have a luxry like a car and not be penalized by the government

those who choose not to work should be relegated to the bus

public transport in burton/swad is shit. 8 min journey from burton to hatton takes 45 mins on a bus I'd fin col at 4:30 and neded in work at 5:30 so had no choice.
