Im applying for a job and I need to start writing about myself.....
Here is the first question:
"We feel that our graduate programme is ‘world class.’ Name a time when you have done something you consider to be ‘world class’ and explain why? "
Now obviously I have not done anything world class, I dont have any gold medals etc....
Would it be wrong to say that I havnt done anything world class as I feel world class describes the absolutle elite?

Not necessarily but you'd need to back it up with a positive, like striving to always be better or something.

all they want you to do is describe a situation you have been in where you have done something you're proud of, you've done something really good
I'm sure they haven't won medals for the graduate programme....they just think it's the best and they are proud of what they offer

Interesting, I would just give a scenario where you think you have performed particularly well, above expectations etc..
Then at the end I would put, P.s. I hope your salaries are world class you smug twats.

24k first year and 28k second year assuming you meet expectations.
Its a 2 year training scheme, so should have a fair few job opportunities after it

Just make something up. You'll be up against other people talking tosh and the people marking it will have had to talk tosh to get where they are.

First one...
Name a time when you have used tenacity and problem solving to create an innovative solution?
"I used tenacity and problem solving the most when I was carrying out some freelance work for a small furniture company. They sought my services through a business friend of theirs. My role was too install a complete network in the workshop in order to replace the cutting lists with on-screen lists. This meant there was a massive cut down in waste paper and time spent printing these cutting lists. The client had some IT experience and was constantly trying to suggest different ways of doing tasks, but I had to stay firm to ensure that the problem could be solved. The biggest problem was the access to cutting lists, he was insistent that all the computers should have all the cutting lists stored locally but I had to stay firm and made sure that they were stored on local network storage for the obvious benifets. I was very pleased with the outcome of the project."

Second one....
We feel that our graduate programme is ‘world class.’ Name a time when you have done something you consider to be ‘world class’ and explain why?
"When I was working as a barman and restaurant manger in the summer of 2008 I was constantly relied upon to carry out many tasks. The main reason I would say my performance at this job was world class was due to the fact that I was 100% committed to the business so much so that I would be coming in on days off sometimes with as little as 15 minuets notice if there was a problem that needed solving such as the management having to leave for unforeseen reasons or staff not turning up. Without my commitment the business would have suffered."
third one...
If you were one of the organisations in the nucleargraduates programme which one would you be and why?
"I would be Amec, their worldwide business that is known for its professional delivery of systems really appeals.
They work with various sectors which means that the project management aspects of the company would be ever changing with each new project leading to massive exposure of different market sectors."

First one you say stay firm too much. I like it though.
World class is not working on your day off. You could talk more about the customer point of view there and their expectation of service, and your delivery therein. If they have high expectations and you met them that is the job done.

"When I was working as a barman and restaurant manager in the summer of 2007 I was faced with a major problem on a Sunday shift that is notoriously the busiest day in that restaurant. I had 2 members of staff off sick and had an overbooked restaurant. That day I managed to actually managed to run the restaurant and bar and by doing this effectively I was able to successfully complete the whole day without any major problems and set a new highest takings record for the business on a Sunday."
