When I used to work in a bike shop it was so hard to get people to understand that. People saw full suspension bikes at low price and were set on that, then kicked up a fuss when they were bringing them back for repairs all the time. Also unless you are doing some serious offroading then a full suspension bike is going to make you even more tired cycling about than anything else.

Ditto.

People think because it's full suspension, it means it's the best thing in the world.

Similar to Paul_J's rant about 'non car people' and thinking a 1.0 will be slower than a 1.2 purely because it's 1.0! Not necessarily.

i got up early on purpose today to check the status of my bike. must of had it about seven years! £360 saracen le x-cell. done a few bits to it like changed the grips, crud catcher, seat, tioga tyres etc. but really i need to sort it out as its a 'slalom' bike so they say... only has eight gears and is a complete pain in the arse to ride around town normally

its had some beatings though! quite a few meetings with trees and even landed me in hospital once lol. and although i battered the chainset, its still going

I may or may not buy that, I can always buy a proper one if I use it and it doesn't just sit in the garage.

There is a 99% probability of it sitting in the garage.

I've got that bike. It isn't horriable to ride at all IMO

Honestly, you'll enjoy riding it, admitingly you'll need to harden up the rear sus as it does bounce around a bit, but a quick mess around and its fine

Be quick though, it's already half price, and with 10% extra off until monday!

Thats exactly what I had, but it wasnt doing my dodgy knee any good as the frame was pretty small. So I got a 19" hard tail month ago, been great being out on it most nights
