they can get you from any window, but only as long as the van is at the same level, otherwise the laser doesnt re3ad a true speed, ie if they were speed trapping on a bridge crossing a motorway you could contest it in court and more than likely get away with it.

If it's a motor bike then it'll get the number plate as it drives past.

yeah i think it would probably be for rear numberplate reasons, maybe if a car came too fast around a corner and you didnt catch the front plate, or for a motorbike like steve says

I would have thought they just rewind the tape if the vehicle is traveling at such a high speed Also the guy inside picks and chooses who he does a speed check on
The small camera could be ANPR

From rear view mirror is ANPR. ANPR Can be behind number plates, in wingmirrors, pretty much anywhere.
Vascar can be mounted to front windscreen or dash
Speed cameras are generally mounted in the rear window however can be used out of any window as all vans have 2 mobile camera's that can be handheld or mounted.
Using current technology you can't be going "too fast" on normal roads to beat the camera's.
Laser and IR cameras can get you from ANYWHERE and hasn't ever been thrown out of court, ever.

Camera on the back will get you aswell, or the camera hidden behind the number plate, or in the rear bumper, or in a wing mirror.
