right i was paid up till 14:46 and got a ticket at 14:49, 2 minutes before i got to my car, yes i was late and i'll man up and pay it.
however the guy next to me had a ticket paid up untill 15:46 and he gave me it, u reckon i can get away with it?

I got one last week, was in a totally secluded place with double yellows, I have a 1001 excuses to park there but hey, rules are rules

probably not, i think they take a photo of your car with a timestamp on and showing the ticket you were displaying on alot of car parks now
A ticket for 3 minutes is harsh though IMO

If they took a photo then you wont but write a letter anyway and make sure you photocopy the ticket, but send them the original.
I got one the other week that was marked at 10.27, my ticket was paid up until 10.30

There's usually a bit of the ticket to complain 
I do it all the time me Principle of the matter!
Edit - it takes then 6 months go get back which is an added bonus

I'd contend it just for the sake of it. Think my local council take about 3 months to get back to you about it. Moneys better in your pocket for 3 months than theres, lol.

My mates a parking officer and he says by law they have to give you a 5mins

Should do, even in a car park you need time to get a ticket as your current one is valid until the time stated. I'd contend it anyway.

Was it a council owned car park?
If not dont pay a penny.
