I've had a good look at that site as they seem to stress you should have read everything about it before you turn up.

Heard it's really hard, seen there was books about it, i'm planning on just turning up and seeing how smart I really am.

The approach guys seem to only have to go to college for 6 months although i'd assume that relates to less pay?

If they paid the same I think that would be more interesting.

there is one category that is less time in the college, purely cos the skills are more specific and less broad, but i would NOT recommend just turning up. i gave 12hrs prep and like i say, failed. there is 4-6 pages of literature they send you a week before selection to read and understand AND remember......i didnt remember it and so know i failed that paper. seriously its one of those things where you get out what you put in, so put it all in!

I got a word document emailed that they stress to read and take in, assume that'll be the same thing, its just loads of information including flight levels for loads of aircraft.

I'll have to look at that but the aptitude test stuff I hope isn't that difficult.

I'm studying Air Law and opperational Procedures at the moment. There is a lot to learn, so I imagine the ATC guys who are routing people through Class A airspace have a lot of work to do!

If you are one of the airport ones you also get 15 hours flying time, which I would really like.

My missus' cousin has just finsihed the qualification and on job training period and goes "live" shortly.

He seems to really enjoy it - IIRC he did a degree in Geography before moving on to the NATS training.
