1. do we really need to know?
2. police inquest says they were speeding, you say they weren't
who's correct?
personally it doesn't affect me, and yes its a terrible tragedy for lives to be lost in this way
put yourself in the shoes of the family of the guy who died in the other car...
They get told your 3 mates were speeding, etc etc, accident could of been avoided
Maybe jimmy/carl is a family member or friend of the other guy?

quote: Collision investigator PC Neal Westwood told the court that there was 'insufficient evidence to calculate the speed at which either vehicle was travelling'.
But he said: "The Rover was unable to maintain its position on the correct side of the road.
So there is no point in making assumptions (sp).
When i'm driving round my estate at 3.30pm (i live next to a primary school), everyone is looking at me and almost saying slow down you mad bastard. I'll be doing 20mph (tops) in 2nd gear covering the brake (just incase). Then an X5 will shoot past at about 50mph and because it's someone over 40 it is ok.
At the end of the day, it is a shame what happened.

Never ever believe what you read in the papers. I don't even trust the date that they print in the top corners.
Work with the facts that you can find out.
Fact, the "Collision investigator" said that there was "insufficient evidence to calculate the speed"
However.
"The Rover was unable to maintain its position on the correct side of the road"
But that isn't what this thread is for.
So RIP you guys
I know how you feel mate. One of my mates who i'd known since we were 5, died in a car crash and 5 years ago. He was going round a long sweeping right hand corner and ended up on the right hand side of the road, over a wall and into a car park. It was so bad that the engine left the engine bay. He was one of those that you always left behind coz he would never speed and try and keep up with me.
Anyways, i drive past his house everyday at least 3 times a day and i always think "what if........"

Wether or not your mate was in the wrong and caused the crash , At the end of the day it was an accident, Theres no way on earth he meant to kill people, By a long shot.
So wether he done it or not, Those comments on that page were uncalled for and not deserved.

Ive always thought online community 'rip' pages to be a bit tacky, there subject to abuse as has happened & of course theres going to be people out to finger point at who's to blame! Its going to be worse if these people are 'remembered' so publicly!
All these rip bebo pages, benches, meets in supermarket car parks is not in my view an appropriate way to remember someone. Raise some cash give it to their fav charity / cat & dog home whatever & keep your memories!!

You soon changed your point of view on these kind of accidents:

Everyone makes stupid mistakes. ITs just a shame his one was this bad.
I say 2 years in jail and a 5 year ban waiting for him when he comes out. (so a 7 year ban i guess)
Words fail me.
Everyone makes mistakes? His mistake killed 5 people. 3 families lives will be changed for the rest of there lives because of his 'mistake'.
2 years?
I give in....

yeah, good to read different comments on peoples minds.helped me alot, thanks . i understand what you mean about making it so public colin but the only reason we have chose to do that is because 2 of the lad were cremated and one burried.so ideally we have only got one grave to visit and pay respect.as you can imagine its hit alot of people who they knew and well over 2,000 people came last year.the £1 a car suggestion is just to help towards familys for thier loss.i already raised £556 last year for the bench but were waiting for it to be place at the familys place of interest.
thanks alot for the comments

Did i say it was fucking cool that he killed people ? No.
Im saying he doesnt deserve to have 'to burn in hell' because of an accident.
I dont agree with it, If he was alive he should get the jail but the point is, He is dead so he's paid the price.

There was a crash near me last year, a lad with 2 girl passengers were driving on the a85 and he over took a car on the crest of a hill crashing into another car coming the opposite way, killed the 2 girls in his car and the 3 people in the other car, a woman, man and their son.He got dragged out of the car on fire.He should get life in jail imo, was up in court a few weeks back.
