If he was eating 5,000 calories a day everyday outside of prison then cutting down to 3,000 (which is alot of food!) is a deficiency of 2,000 cals a day over a week thats 14,000 calories he isnt eating.
There is 3,500 calories in 1 lbs of fat so thats 4lbs of fat loss a week...
