yes mate, its split up into different sections which cover all sorts:

starts off with lots of info about current regulations and legislation

Lots of info about circuit protection (fault and basic protection), eg- fuses, mcb's and RCD's, etc

Lots of formula's to work out basic things like current, voltage, volt drop, cable deteriation rate, what size cable to use, what type of breaker to use, etc

The biggest part of the book maily installation work... in various places such as homes, bathrooms, kitchens, caravans, construction sites, fairgrounds, etc,etc (lots of info on this)

also lots of diagrams and tables. Also lots of info about IP (international/ingress protection)

To be honest the biggest part of the exam is been able to find you way through the book as fast as possible. Its 60 questions (multiple choice) in two hours so you only get 2 mins per question...

however may sound easy but you need to look 95% of the answers up in the book as they ave very specific answers...

You can buy the book for about £65...

yeh i left school and got an apprentaship where i did one year full time at college and 3 years at work on day relese back to college. (totalling 4 years)

In that time ive done my NVQ level 2 and 3 in elecrical maintenance, and got my ONC and HNC in electrical engineering. to be honest ive only just come out of my time this year so still learing alot

most of the work i do is maintenance like fault finding etc. However, my work put me through alot of other training courses etc aswell. Ive done courses in, driving forklifts, cherrypickers, fire, breating apparatus, scaffolding, safety passport, etc etc. If you can get in with a big company then ya sorted

although i must say i do like insallation work better! would love to do house wiring... just the moneys not as good

i'll be doing mine when the project i'm running finishes. i've already got the 16th edition so i'm pretty well prepared for it. i remember when i did my apprenticeship my wiring regs had about 50 post-it notes sticking out to help when looking up answers

Went to a seminar with work on this, found it completely boring to be honest the main thing I picked up from it was you need more mcb's on circuits!
