Is there any way to check the mileage on a car is genuine besides going by the clocks, mot certificate and does the car look true to its mileage? Been offered a corsa sport with only 29,580 miles on the clocks and I must admit it is in mint condition besides usual stone chips and rust at the bottom of the spoiler and mot certificate is for the mileage for what it was at when last mot'd but if the guy has a mate who can do a dodgy mot is there any other way of verifying it?

It's a S reg so 10 years old? He said it was owned by an old man who had given it to his grandson for his first car but couldnt insure it very easily with it being a 1.4 16v sport.

flybikeslee-Steering wheel is mint, seats have turned a little white on the bottom bolster but has no holes.only rust is at the bottom of the spoiler as mentioned.sills look mint and engine bay is pretty clean

Seats are some of the best I've seen to be honest. The boy is asking for £2000 for it which I think is alot for a 10 year old car.It does have brand new 16" softstars, stainles steel de-cat exhaust system, polished inlet cover, carbon fibre rocker cover, lowered 60mm,polished half show cage and a raidhp induction kit but it's still alot

If it looks clean and tidy inside, and the MOT certificates match up that'd be enough evidence for me

Seat Covers and Steering Wheel covers help hide the age loads though, my mate bought an ex taxi mondeo with 170k on it and the seats and steering wheel were fine.

You could get a hpi done on the internet.I got one done by the rac and it said the car had milage discrespense so something wasnt right.I think it only cost £5 aswell so well worth doing before you spend £2000.Sounds quite a good deal if you ask me.

As said HPI check it.

Or check worn engine parts, steering wheel/seats/pedals/gearknob...
