I know. Add to that all the other taxes (council tax, fuel tax, tax on stuff we buy) It would be a big chunk of cash - dont get much back for it tbh.

i cant get enough poles at work, im always on the look out for staff and 90% of the english i get are lazy and useless, the kind of people that come on here and boast work is easy and they get to mess about all day. Most poles have a great work ethic and try and to a good job for me.
I am hearing stories however from them that are more are thinking of returning home as the cost of living is starting to hurt them here, also the pound has dropped in value against their currency so they can send less home.

My dad used to be very high up in the RHA (Road Hauliers Assosiation) in the 90's and he always tells me about the story of him talking to the then Finaance Minister and asking how he is going to help UK haulage compete against European, and the Minister told him that they dont care about the UK haulage industry, all they care about is the City

A great thing old Gordon did when he was chancellor was to sell half our gold to the germans for $190 an oz, its now worth $2000 an oz.
If the recession get too bad world wide, how are we going to import all the food we need?? As a country we cant support 60 million people with our current agro industry

Thats hardly true though is it. Think about it, Land Rover dont magic front cross members out of thief arses now do they. They rely on british owned and run businesses to supply them withcomponents and sub assemblys to build thief cars...

Range Rover are put together in UK, all the brake components are made in Italy (brembo) and are transported over here, the put together in deby, then transported to soulihol (sp) where there stuck on the car.
Iknow this as i was talking to the druver who brings over the brake components from Italy as he is good mates with my dad and parks his lorry in our yard.
But he gave up the contract the other month and even the pols and romanians wouldnt talk up the contract as it wasnt payng, he is back doing it as they offered more money after going to range rover and telling them that the rates had to b increased.

They go to the ZF Lemforder plant in Birmingham first as that is where the suspension corner unit assemblys are built before going to Solihull.
