http://www.rangeover.co.uk/

Seeing them side by side , I'd rather have the P38 Range Rover as opposed to todays Range Rover, Looks more of a 4x4.

Thoughts?

What is the fucking point. . .I agree.

Like the M3 kit for the an E46 Coupe. Comprises of front bumper, rear bumper and exhausts. Just buy an M3.

Funny story that you might like...

I test drove a P38 last week at my local private dealer. It was a 4.6 HSE Vogue. Took it about 2 miles and had great fun as it fair shifts, Got it back to the dealer and about to park up and went to put the handbrake on....Was already on. I had drove about 2 miles thinking it was fast and the whole time the handbrake was on.

Edit: Its around 5500 for the bumpers etc, Then theres the lights and daft parts which cost £900 for front lights, back lights £700 and side grills are £700 and so on.

So around 7k all in, On top of the price of the Rangey to start with your paying 16-17k, Which could be you a new one anyway.

Yeah, you may aswell get a genuine one

Mind you, they've got that much torque so you wouldn't notice when the headbrake is on, like you for example!

why make an LS look like a GSi?

I'm not so much against it as its still the same brand - I'm more against making a MR2 look like a Ferrari

TBH, you proberly worn out the pads in the 1st mile, so the 2nd mile was without the handbrake on in theory

no but lets say the purchase price of a P38 is £17k and the kit is £7k all in thats 41% of the value of the car.

Buy a 1.2 LS for £750; pay £500 for a shoddy fibreglass replica GSI kit, then have it painted and fitted and your talking about double the purchase price of the car - its all relative

I would never do that to the range rover; but tbh I couldn't care less if someone else did it

I see where you're coming from. imho it depends on the value of the car, as to how much you try and make it better. The unmodified Range Rover is good enough as it is.

The only mods I would make to a 'better' car i.e. BMW, Merc etc is adding affiliated/genuine tuners i.e. ACS, Brabus, Alpina etc.

Dont see the point making something look like something better. Like putting a fat bird in a short skirt, folk arent going to think any better of it!!

but the thing for me is, id rather drive round in my slightly modded corsa than drive round in a completly standard one, to me its not about the value of the car, (bought for 415) iv proball spent that on it anyway, would you rather drive your ls round standard just because its a ls, not everyones got that much cash
