Anyone any theorys or info on the net on where space ends and what is on the edge of space, or if indeed space goes on forever, it boggles my mind and i need answers lol

also a wee scenario, if you dug straight down through the earth (pretend that you could survive massive temperatures, andnot get beaten up by the village people) what happens when you eventually come out the other side? would you come out feet first? but thats not possible!

Only thing i can think is youd kind of hover in mid air when you got to the middle.

I don't think anyone has an explanation or if so can comprehend it. I always used to think of a giant wall around it but then what would be on the other side. Infinity is a pretty difficult concept to grasp. Surely everything has to end somewhere, right?

Read Steven Hawkings book like im doing - A brief history of time

Also about the digging lol - Youd be going towards gravity digging down, then youd get passed the centre core and you would be effectivly digging upwards then working against gravity.

AFAIK the current theory is it is a finite space, but it expands into nothing, and there was nothing before the universe began, it's all very interesting but trying to understand is even more mind boggling.

A brief history of time is a good book, you have to be very interested, verging on geek to read it though because even being explained simply is quite in depth.

Theoretically, when you reached the center of the earth, because of the pressure difference you would get crushed to the size of a pea or probably smaller.

The answer is 'nothing'. There is no matter. There is no vacuum. There is no time even. Just plain undiluted nothing. We cannot get out there and experience it, because it doesn't exist.Once your brain stops fighting against this notion and you just accept it, it all becomes much easier to understand.

Well, that's the way my Laborador explained it to me when we went for a run in the park... And I trust her, after all, she was right about the Telstra shares...
