Depends what sort of music you're into.... theres a couple of streets that run parallel to each other (West Street and Division Street), this is where most of the bars are situated, I'd estimate there are about 30 bars in total on these 2 streets...
As for clubs, you have Embrace for the dance, Leadmill for indie, and Plug and Niche for the smackheads

how do you work that out, plug is the only one that has good line ups, they have some very good dj's on and take that extra step it seems to try and bring them in.
Isn't there a carling acadamy now open in Shef, or opening very soon. I'm in sheffield all the time as my girlfriend lives there, but don't go out much there, but it seems there is quite a lot of places to go on different nights, like i said plug has some good line ups, check the website out.
There is Dq's that has just got a funktion 1 sound system in, and a few other less commercial places knocking about.

Yeah the Plug changed its image a few years ago and has some very good DJ's and Bands on!
DQ's always a good nite on a saturday! But thats only because I know alot of people that work there and alot of the people that go there!
Embrace is just like an oceana nightclub=wank!
The Leadmill plays mainly Indie music on a Saturday.
The Carling Academy opens this Friday! No idea what music they will be playing on a Saturday Nite though!

Just checked where that hotel is, didn't realise there was one there!
As already mentioned, theres plenty to do and your right in the centre of town so your no more than 5-10 mins walk from the main bars. Theres some nice eateries and bars on West Street depending on what your after. Theres a nando's there an a really nice mexican type place called las iguanas in a development called west one http://www.iguanas.co.uk/locations-sheffield.asp.
Theres plenty of bars on west street as well from varsity and cavendish (I live directly behind there), to smaller places like Bia Hoi and Tequila. If you go parallel to West street theres Division street that has places like the Forum, Bungalow and Bears etc. on it, which are decent bars depending on ur music taste.
As for clubs theres embrace, plug, DQ, leadmill etc. which have all been previously mentioned really.
Its a good nite out, I've loved living here for the past 3 years

Depends what music your into, but i wouldnt say no to leadmill any night of the week.
Drinks before hand.......avoid the 'scream' or yellow card pubs, lager is wank. Go to vodka revolution then commonrooms, both good! enjoy.
