I've recently got a new job, don't start until 28th of April, anyway i have to write an acceptance letter, the thing is it was advertised at 500 quid a year more than they have wrote in the letter. Should iI query it before handing a letter in?
I'm thinking yes, but then thinking i don't want to start the job off on the wrong foot!

Just ask them to confirm the salary because you have noticed the discrepancy.

Mention it to who? If you need the car for business miles then you need the insurance to be correct. Is that a condition of your employment?

Mention it to the prospective employer as it will cost me more when i change it. It is a community based role so i'm assuming that i'll be using my car at some point, possibly with the people i am dealing with and I know there are others who have got the job and don't drive so will probably end up taking them places too.

I agree. Don't put "I have noticed that I am going to get £500 less a year than advertised". Say something like "I have also noticed there is a discrepancy between the advertised salary and offered salary. Could you confirm this?" At the end of the day, it could be some work experience kid writing your letter and making a typo.

I asked and it seems it was a mistake, she has copied an old letter out which had a different amount on, so all is well.
