It can glide though. In an exercise you do the instructor will shut the engine down and you have to land it.

Don't you mean controlled crash the fucker?
No, you pitch the prop blades and the air rushing past them turns them controlling your rate of decent.

I've been in a Helicopter and it was awesome! It was like being in a posh car but in the air.

'Fully' controlling or just a tiny bit of control?

I am not having that, if it has no propulsion at all how can some tilted propeller blades control your landing

I agree. And they won't create lift surely?

helicopters dont just drop out of the sky, they have a small amount of control if an engine fails, not enough to go anywhere just enough t get you on the ground safely

ABout helicopters/planes being safe.......I trust them, to say how many flights occue each and every day, accidents are very far and few between!

Cars on the other hand, accidents every day guaranteed.

The thing is when you go out for a drive, theres a lot of obstacles to hit, i.e. other cars and walls! Theres nothing to hit in the sky lol

I wouldnt like to comment on how a helicopter would cope with engine failure, but i dont imagine its all over if it does! I think youd be in more of a pickle with damage to the rotors!

Engine failure in a plane not a problem at all (as long as theres somewhere to land). Ive done engine failure practice a couple of times, tbh it basically landing prematurely!
