Ive been looking to change my MK2 GTi for a few months now, or maybe keep the golf and get something else. At the moment im looking at a MR2 MK1, anyone got any experience with these cars ? apperently they have a nice T-VIS type injection and aint that sluggish. But i still like my golf so i dont know whether to change from this :-

To something like this?

Like to hear some good and bad things about the MR2 if anyone has any. Thanks.
I originally had my heart set on a 205 GTi, 1.9 not 1.6, test drove a 1.6 and it lacked the power of my golf. But 205's dont seem to come up near me, only the shitters.

Your Golf looks a minter, and I don't like that shape MR2 much myself!

Pretty nippy, but you'll pay top whack for a minter. most are rustic sheds.

Lol, nice to hear you like it. Pictured very well in that pic. Is in good nick tho, Keep finding rust and rot and it breaks my heart Have to look for it tho, nothing noticeable from outside . Think its the rear wheel drive mid engine thats tempting me on the MR2

Would love too, but the insurance price isnt the best. Am 19 with 2 years no claims. Only costs the 871 for year on golf tpft at group 14. Turbo MR2 would cost lots lots more . Im limited to the older hot hatches at the mo, but ive always got to go for the fastest thing possible .

Yer, probs will, mind always wanders to diff cars tho, but then again everyone elses probs does n all. Golf can keep up with most cars, but it annoys me sometimes when VTR's are even stevens with me and my cars twice the insurance group. Not like the golf would handle better n all. Ah well, get more admirers in the golf than any VTR would.

Mine too. Never satisfied, there's always something else I think about changing my car for, despite me being happy with my current car. I annoy myself TBH at times, wish I could just be happy with what I've got and not thinking about what else I could get . Rob B is my idol (new car every 5 minutes )

If you do get a mk1, get some koni adjustable suspension for it, hard as fook on the soft setting but will hang on to every curve.
speak to TNM, he had one
