After my bump a few weeks back now, the police tried to prosocute me for dangerous driving or some shit.. I said i aint having points so they said they can send me on a 2 day course which 'improves my driving'
Finally got the letter through this morning, £178.50 it costs
Seeing as so the copper on the phone said i wouldnt be doing anything, the intinerary says different. (just scanning on now)
So has anybody been on one of these?
If so, how bad are they?

I have seen on 2 occasions young people being done for careless driving for nothing other than the fact they were the youngest there.
Dangerous driving is a different matter.
That course is also cheap compared to the one they made my brother go on.
You sit in a room in a hotel all day and do nothing btw.

Could possibly be region dependant?
One my brother went on cost him about 260 quid I think and he went to a hotel and sat in a conference room all day listening to how careless driving kills.

Well like it shows in the intinerary above, it doesnt look THAT bad, just cant be arsed with the exam and shit.

I've been on one, long story why, but it was a waste of time and everybody (the instrucors) all agreed that I should of taken my offence to court. Oh well, I did actually learn a few things though, my course was £150 and my instructor I had with another guy was really sound. The guy I was had a Hillman Imp he used for rallying and the instructor did a similar thing. When we went out he showed us how to overtake on single lane roads, better gear changes, apexing corners safely etc.. Was a good day, I also learnt that if your at some traffic lights and they turn to green you don't have to go!!

So what do you do instead, the lights go green and you just sit there with the handbrake on?

Brabus, its a good tool to upset the police. They won't know that! Not done it yet but if they're ever is a panda car behind me at some lights I won't be going. The green light simply means it's safe to go not that you have to.
Similar thing, if you don't physically stop at a STOP sign you can get 3 points irelevant of anyone being near.
I was taught things like going over the hash markings at junctions too. the ones where your given a lane to go in before your turning point. Its to keep the flow of the traffic behind you and avoid being a hazard.
I could carry on all day with little stuff like this.

It's all in the highway code, if you didn't know most of the little things maybe you should never have passed.

And i'm sure you don't know half of it either though, it'd be impossible for anyone to know everything. There is so much in there that is surprising. I do however think that comment is a little off though.

Surely you were told by your instructor that you have to physically stop at a stop sign

The local police round here might be different to the police where you are. Around here they torment young drivers, harassing them and as Jakey said originally discriminate against people far to easily. I have words with the police on a few occasions about similar matters and they apologise. To me thats completely wrong, they shouldn't be like that in the first place.
I had one 40 something PC talk to me when I was messing on my bike. He spoke to me in a derogatory way, almost giving me insults about things and making out I was stupid, it all changed when he took my details found out I was 25 and I told him I wanted to take the matter to court. I was hopping over a bench in town on a Friday night about 10.30. I'd explained to him I knew it was wrong yet he ignored what I had to say.
Thats just an example of what they're like.
No though I would waste peoples time, i'd only do it if it was just them behind. And yes I would waste my time to upset them, they've wasted more than enough of mine in the past!

I see your point, there are STOP signs on country roads though where I've rolled through without a problem many a time as you can see clearly in every direction.
Sounds like your digging for an argument and your not trying to understand other peoples points.

I've done it a few years ago.
You'll go out on 2 drives at the end.
1, drive as bad as you can.
2, Drive like your on your driving test again.
All you (well I) had to show is that you could improve your driving.
We drove round barnsley, where i live. The instructor didn't know the area and neither did the other 2 that was in the car with me. So i had to tell them where to go to miss out all the traffic
When they said i passed, i got in my car and drove off at full speed The silly things we do when we are young
Oh and they are NOT police officers. So don't bother going in with an attitude. They are just driving instructors.

I did that without knowing I think it was the nerves cause I was first and didn't know what to expect
They'll go round asking everyone what car's people drive, Corsa 1.4, Focus etc, everyone's faces when I said a twin turbo Rx-7
They were like
And I was like
