Although don't know where to go, not going specsavers as i've been there previously and really didnt like the service etc.

Was thinking vision express...

I'd always go to a private family run type opticians rather than a big chain.
Dolland and Achison are offering quite large concessions at the moment if you look in the right places, although your employer should pay for a test for you if you're screen-bound.

You can have your eye test wherever you like, then take your prescription to whichever shop has the frames you like.

Look in Thompson local or yellow pages.
Bound to be some smaller outfits about.

I'm getting mine done at costco on Saturday.

Don't know how much they charge but not had mine tested for 8 months. Like to get mine checked every 6 months or so just to make sure everything is ok.

My local place has closed down and opened up in town. Don't really like paying £2 an hour to park

All eye tests are free in scotland, which is pretty cool.

I went to boots. Good eye test, but expensive glasses, so I'd go elsewhere, or use your prescription and go to glassesdirect.co.uk

Last time I didn't but I do now just can't afford to be forking out for glasses, and can't be arsed paying out every year or 2 for new lenses. My brother generally gets his tested every 2 years now, it used to be every year but he was buying new lenses every year, then when he fancied a change of frames it was costing him a fortune. I'll just have to see how money goes, if I can get it together soon enough I'll go straight for laser, don't really want glasses and haven't got a clue about contacts

I'm going short sighted so close up stuff is fine, but distance isn't very good, it's funny, sometimes they seem fine, other times I struggle with stuff that isn't that far, so I'd need em permanent really
