Gutted! Just been to fill the car up with petrol as my dad was going to take me out for a nice long drive in it being as i'm doing well with my lessons. I put £40 in it was about to start it up when some woman comes running over shouting at me to not to turn it on Got out and asked her wtf was wrong and freshly bought petrol was all over the floor under the car It was pooring out like wild fire. We pushed the car well out the way and got most of it cleared up.
Was still peeing out and this time and a salesman came out with the massive tub thing to catch it with but wouldnt go under the car lol. Ended up puting some flower trays i found under it My mum had to tow it home in the end
I just hope its tanks not fucked. But still going have to spend more money on it thats I could do without

Not buggered, could be a fuel line ruptured or tank rusted through. Buypartsby for the tank, I got mine and fitted it in an afternoon.
Chin up.

its the first time i've filled it properly. Up till now i've only ever put a tenner in at a time so the hole is going to be quite high up the tank or even the filler neck as i've still got 3/4 of a tank left init I'll have a look at it next weekend to see whats what.

£25 for fuel line from filter to tank. Cheap fix. You lost more in petrol!

Mine rusted through about halfway up, where the two halves of the tank join. The seam had rusted and opened up, so it was fine until you put more than half a tank in.
Bit of a fiddly bitch to change a tank, so check the lines first.

Might be the tank or the fuel lines. Its a messy job but easily diagnosed. Tank is about 100 quid from Autovaux brand new. Scrappy is cheaper and you may get the pipes then that way but make sure you get a good one.
Edit - also looking at that pic could be the filter. Your ideal scenario is the pipe has come off the filter and the fix is putting it back on. May indicate the filter is blocked though. Did you have a look underneath?

Actually, now that Ian has mentioned it, where the flower tray is, is directly underneath the fuel filter, that could be you're problem.
Did you let the car get really empty before filling it? Could have sucked shit from the bottom of the tank, blocked the filter and burst a fuel line or something.

You wouldn't block it in one go, probably would have been apparent as a lack of power. When was it last changed?

Take a look at the filter mate. The pipes can go a bit shit round there! Sometimes the little clip thing can let go.

It's more than likely there's a rust hole at the top of the tank. I'm reliably informed its quite a common problem with older corsas.
Funnily enough i had exactly the same thing happen with my old corsa the 1st time i filled that up completly.

If it was a hole in the top it wouldn't do the whole contents of the tank though

Ahhhh. Hmm tank seems more likely from that. I'd have thought (although I'm not entirely knowlegdgable on the fuel system on Corsa's) that that filter pipe would have leaked all the fluid rather than a small amount if it was that.

A mate had a similar problem, he'd scraped the fuel line on a hump & it'd split the pipe. Bit of hose sorted it out, cost about 10p
