I know a lot of people have recently been buying clios, jus wanted people opinions on them, as im thinking about buyin one in the next few months, just not sure which

Anyway, thinking about 182 in black or yellow
Or 182 Trophy
Or 197 in red of black?

What does everyone think? all average around a similar price really

Great cars, pick a 01-02 up for pretty cheap but if its a fast little toy you want you can get faster for cheaper.

If it was me I would get a Trophy purely because its has the Recaros, fancy suspension and different paint as standard But I dont think you would go wrong with any of them really. I'd only buy it cos of it being a special edition, not that I would particularly need any of the bits it comes with over a normal one

Only thing that strays me towards a trophy, something different with fancy bits

As ive been browsing piston heads jus quickly flicking thru ive seen 197's for 9-10kish, similar prices for a decent mileage trophy, normal 182 is slightly cheaper though

I dont think the trophy is that great a buy personally as the sach dampers will be pricey to replace, ride is pretty hard for a standard car and they will depreciate if you do any miles in them.

I'd get a 182 FF and some out there do have the Recaro Treadstones.

I'd also avoid Liquid yellow as you will pay about 1k mor on a higher mile car for the sake of the paint.

Any advice mate drop me a u2u

The early 197s are good but they will depreciate hard as Renault revised the gearing as it was quite harsh.

hmm i fancy a black 182, but also fancy the trophy. Will decide when i start looking round at a few i think. Will have more money to save towards a house if i get a normal 182.

What is the difference with the cup packs?

yeah Gold Black 182's are

Make sure you buy one with both cup packs which is the front lip and rear spoiler.

The other cup pack is the cup suspension which has different geometry to the stock Clio. If you buy a 182 without these cup packs they are really hard to sell

surely that's a reason to choose it?? - i.e. more desirable colour and less of them about??

friend at work has a 55 plate red trophy - awesome car and i'd definately consider one if i had 10k burning a hole in my pocket!!

well i just think you get less car for your money cos lets be fair £1k is a significant proportion of the cars value?

Also whats more than likely to get keyed and therefore require a full respray at some point? Saw one on Cliosport get vandalised and just seeing the pictures was enough toput me off a Liquid yellow one.

Someone scraped my car in a carpark not long ago...if mine was LY i would of been livid

Oh I was livid took me ages to get over it but if it was LY I would be hard pushed to get a colour match. At least with my blue bus i can get a fairly decent colour match if needed
