Due to me and the missus planning a family pretty soon( ), I'm getting rid of the Coupe for something nice and cheap to run. I've seen an immaculate 1.7 Sri CDTi in a garage near me, are they any good?
Similar in performance to a 1.8 Sri I'm guessing, anybody had/got one?

Would love one of these
Couple of members have them on here, sit tight, I'm sure they'll reply.
Also come in 5 door, handy for a family

I'll beat steve too it and also suggest a Fabia VRS if you're going for a 5 door. More tuning potential shoudl you ever find yourself with a spare bit of cash, though i'm not sure on prices of tuning or the cars themselves V's a Cdti 1.7 .

People get to hyped up about diesel speeds....the 1.8 petrols are quicker everywhere if driven correctly. The only time they arent (i would imagine) is doing 50 in 5th. But then you would be daft if you expected your petrol engine to rapidly pull at 2k rpm
