Just make sure you have roaming enabled. Otherwise you're fooked.

My dad's 02 contract phone wouldn't work for calls (would for txts) in Italy. Mums Orange PAYG worked for both. Bit random - might be worth giving Orange a call

Orange also sell special cards for making cheap international calls, you dial a number, enter the number off the card then dial the number you want to call, so I cant see why it wouldnt work the same on contract (im on PAYG), but I can call the UK for 3c/minute which is pretty good!

My orange contract wouldnt even get a signal in spain. Was so pissed off, my girlfriends pay and go on orange had singal, could make calls etc.
