Well, I was called down stairs around 5:30 by my Mum and Brother who were both looking out of the window. Turns out one of the apartments infront of my house was on fire. Where I live is full of old people really, so my first thought was shit..Somebody has to be inside of there. Fire engines pulled up, panicing obviously because they have to assume the worst. They couldn't get through the front door so had to put a ladder at the front and smash the windows open, smoke just poured out everywhere. A few minutes later a man, mid 40's, legs it around the corner straight over there..Turns out he was the owner. Completely gutted for him, he has nobody, lives alone. He started crying and I felt completely gutted for him, really. Imagine the feeling of walking around the corner and seeing your place on fire, must be fucking awful.
Anyway..Another few mins pass and a crowd is growing outside of my house, and then you see a group of chavs appear. Oh, how caring they were, practically pushing the bloke out of the way to get to the firemen, who at this point had finished putting the fire out, and started messing with their hose and just being pricks in general. Wanted to go outside and say something but Mum wasn't too impressed and stopped me..
Checked outside about an hour ago and the bloke can't go into his house yet, basically everybody has gone apart from policemen, and he is just pacing up and down a path around our area..Feel terrible for him..I thought neighbours would be a bit more caring (and that does include my family also).
Sorry for the massive wall of text, all in all, there was a fire.

I think its always hard to know what to say but if you say nothing, he may think people don't care, kind of a catch 22 situation

Shocking the world we live in.
Im just glad i live in a street where were all freinds and all go to each other if need be and have bbq's in the summer etc.
Only 20 houses in my street but everyone knows each other and would do anything for anyone.
Id hate to be in a street like yours.

My old street I was friendly with practically everybody, moved here and its fucking shit..the people around here are wankers.
When I was 12 one woman came out and complained that I had SKATED past her house and drowned out the sound of her T.V

Thought that counts though mate...Feel ashamed that nobody (including myself) went out of their way to atleast try to do anything..People had a nice time standing and watching the place burn though.
