Since I started back at work on Jan 7th, i've not payed a penny in Tax - due to the fact that I hadn't been payed once since way before this tax year. My threshold is £5220 before I have to start paying tax, but if I dont make that threshold I will start paying based on my earnings from the 1st April regardless.

Bearing in mind I pay £150 tax a week usually, i'm well up on my pocket money and its great! I'm putting in loads of overtime and making twice what I usually make a week!

40k a year, so to earn under the tax threshold you would have to only have worked 6 weeks before april.

I dont why some people go on emergency Tax and some, like me, get tax free earnings for a time. You'll get a tax rebate, I've had a few of those now - its all good, I like the tax man when he's on my side
