Right im looking to get myself a new bike ready for summer. I currently have a Saracen xile from a few years back. Still in good condition but I damaged my knee a few years back and the frame geometry seems to put abit too much strain on my knees with it being a dual slalom bike.
So I am looking around for a new bike and ideally i want disk brakes this time (hydraulic preferred) and some nice components on it that wont need upgrading.
I mainly do road riding (so need to be able to bunny hop for curbs etc) with abit of trail riding (hoping to get more into it though!)
I want a nice light weight bike mainly as then I dont have any excuses for being a sweaty mess
Here is my current 'ride' :

Here is what I am looking at:

I am fully open to suggestions and welcome all input

When you say road riding, to me mean commuting, or street riding?
Either, some level of Specialized Hardrock will do you a treat - they have various levels of entry and I'm pretty sure one comes with hydraulic discs.
If you want a more trails, dirt style bike, again, the Specialized P series.
You can't beat Specialized for value.
My whole Demo 7 (complete bike) cost £2000. The Demo 7 frame on its own (which only has a slightly better shock) is £1300. Then the forks you get with the Demo 7 complete bike are worth about £500. That means you get the rest of the bike, for about £200. Bargain if you ask me.

Its a combination of commuting and street riding at the moment. Hopefully get more into trails riding in the near future though when i get fitter again
Is this the one you mean Deano:

?
Sounds pretty good, looks like its about halfway between a dual slalom bike like I have now and a XC bike. Would Halfords sell them? I may have to pop to a store to try one out

Yeah - that is the one I mean.
Well they are more designed as a recreational bike, but they can take a bit of stick. Not literally designed for street riding but they are well built.
Halfords did sell them for a while, not sure now. If you have an Evan's Cycles near you (which I'm sure you probably do have) that is probably the best place to go

Felt are also very good yes - I started dealing with them just before I left the bike shop where I worked.
